Database Specialist:

This position coordinates the database projects between all involved parties, manages all movement of the customer's data, advises and educates the customer on the database projects, including data conversions, and acts as a go-to source of knowledge and action for the customer.  This position also includes administrative responsibilities for HawkSoft's online product.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage multiple timelines between an average of 15-25 projects, ensuring deadlines are kept, customers are aware of the schedule, and all preparations are made before any milestone.
  • Effectively communicate project expectations directly with customers, ensuring alignment.
  • Maintain awareness of the implementation process to ensure certain database project milestones are completed in a complementary fashion.
  • Obtain data from the customer's previous CMS, or advising the customer on how to obtain this data from their vendor.
  • Test converted data for accuracy, before providing to the customer.
  • Install conversion data.
  • Review conversion data with the customer, focusing on what's most important to the customer.
  • Aid the customer in understanding how the data is translated from the original database to the HawkSoft CMS database.
  • Effectively troubleshoot and resolve databases issues as they are discovered, working directly with the customer and/or collaborating with other departments, as needed.
  • Document all interactions and issues thoroughly, including any relevant screenshots or examples.
  • Report and track issues with the database management team.
  • Perform data clean-up as necessary.
  • Answer customer inquiries regarding database projects, or implementation when possible.
  • Additional duties as required when providing customized solutions for customers.
  • Coordinate data conversion timeline with Implementation Consultants.
  • Provide 3rd level support for HawkSoft's online product.
  • Administer backend client configurations for HawkSoft's online product.
  • Assist with other conversion/database/online related projects, as needed.

Educational Experience:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field is preferred
  • A High School diploma or equivalent is required
  • 3 + years of customer service experience
  • 2 + years of experience with enterprise database systems (SQL Server experience a plus)
  • Insurance industry experience is a plus
  • Working knowledge of the HawkSoft Client Management System is a plus
